Latest Architectural Digest: Rustic Italian Villa

So as I flipped through the July issue of Architectural Digest this home jumped out at me. I am at a loss for words but if I was wealthy enough to have an "Italian Villa" I am pretty sure this is what it would look like. Haha. =)

Beautiful stone/brick arches! Ahhhh....

I love the rustic elegance.

I will take one of these...Thanks. =)

These kind of places make you wonder why you live in the US when you can live in Italy!?!? Haha. =)

New updates for my living room...

So I just got a few new additions for my living room. I am super excited to show you guys the finished product. I can't wait. I am really just waiting on my husband to hang my curtains and that is it. He has been busy and he refuses to let me do cause he says its painful to watch. Haha. =)

First addition...I got in the mail a few days ago. I am in love with them. I have two but I need to finish the other chair before I reveal them both but I am seriously in love. =) They go perfect with all the decor in my house.

And these! I have had these frames on the wall for months thinking about what I was going to put into them and then I noticed in my wall calendar this picture! It was screaming at me to cut it in half and place in the frames. So I did. I love how they turned out. The frames I found at a garage sale for $.25 each and then put a touch of black on them to tone down the gold. So I did this whole project for $.50. You can't beat that!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Enjoy!

Client Nursery E-Design

Every once in a while I get really low budgets for bedrooms. Which I like a lot because one...I don't feel like the only person who has a husband still in school and can't afford a 15,000 living room and two...it keeps me on my feet and forces me to get creative.

I had the chance of doing a nursery Design for a client. Her and her kids are so cute. She has a baby boy and toddler girl living in the same room size 9x12. Her husband is going to school but she still wanted to have a cohesive area where the babies could not only sleep but play.

Challenges: No painting the white walls. $150 Budget. And two cribs.

So this is what we came up with...

1-3 Fabrics for bedding.

6-7 Photo frame Ideas

9-Painted area rug

She was so excited! Even though it is not much of a budget she was willing to put in the work. I can't wait to see how the room turns out. =)

So my designer tip tuesday that was suppose to be yesterday but I am linking it to this project!

Tip: If you are having a low budget...make sure you are realizing all the work YOU will have to do. Low budgets = a lot of DIY. Which is fine but be ready to get down and dirty on sewing machine and get your paint clothes on. So be realistic when you are setting a budget and ask yourself...how much work do I want to do?

Enjoy the day everyone!

Happy Anniversary to Me! =)

Two Years! Wow! TOday is my anniversary. We were married in the Houston Temple on June 6th, 2009. Best decision ever. =) Since then we have had our little boy and moved to Texas where we began a new chapter in our lives.

Here are a few pictures from our wedding that I like. I love him. =)

Wedding Day 6-6-09

We got to go away for the weekend to Houston. Went to the Houston Temple, stayed in the Magnolia Hotel we stayed at for our honeymoon and ate at this really amazing and really expensive steakhouse. It was so good and worth every penny though. Haha. It was so nice. We watched movies and just enjoyed each others company.

I am one lucky and blessed girl. =)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I have some fun posts and updates coming so check back.

Design Done Right: Rambling Renovators

Today I will be featuring the Kitchen from Jennifer over at Rambling Renovators. You should really go check out all the the projects she has done...they are amazing! So talented. So here is her kitchen below...

Don't you just love the backsplash?!

Even a narrow kitchen can be functional and beautiful.

I love that she chose to put frosted glass doors cause they break up the cabinetry and give your eye a visible OUT. Very important in a small narrow space.

Thanks so much Jennifer for letting me showcase your Kitchen. To check out her other projects...head on over to Rambling Renovators.

Enjoy!
